What we do

AND WHY WE'RE HERE

At BASIS, our mission was born from the challenges faced in a northern food supply program. Recognizing the high costs associated with refrigerated (reefer) trucks—both in purchase and maintenance—we seek a more sustainable and cost-effective solution. Our innovation lies in developing a rigid, flax-based biodegradable plastic substrate. This eco-friendly material will be engineered to withstand the rigorous demands of daily use, offering a robust alternative to traditional plastics.

Beyond coolers, we will continue to research this versatile substrate to be applied across various industries, revolutionizing products and processes with its durability and biodegradability. By replacing conventional plastics with our flax-based alternative, we aim to reduce plastic waste and promote sustainability. Our solution will not only reduce the need for vehicle refrigeration but also support ecological balance, significantly impacting the planet.
